Well i was convinced to switch from direct to dish..i have one question though since there are a lot of differences. I use my stereo as the the volume to the tv...on Direct there was a way to just hit volume down and it would automatically turn down the volume without going to aux..is this possible with dish? I dont mind pressing Aux every time i want to change the volume..but would prefer not too..

Thank you

Yes.

1. Press and hold the AUX button fot 4 seconds (button will flash).
2. Press pound (#).
3. Press the + side of the volume.
4. Press zero.
5. Press pound (#) (AUX button will flash 3 times).
6. Press SAT mode.
7. Test to make sure volume works on device.

These instructions came from the VIP722K manual, other similar receivers should work the same, or look in your manual for "Switching between TV and Device Volume Control"

I tried this and it didn't work. Is there something else I need to do before hand so the remote knows what source my sound is coming from?

I tried the steps on my 311 receiver remote. Everthing worked ok except now I can't control the volume on the TV with the remote and the stero receive does work either.

I really, really want to set the remote back the way it was so that it controls the sound on the TV - please help - I am now in trouble.
