New TV, please help

I am searching for a tv (LCD or Plasma) and it occurred to me it would be helpful to understand how other people are making their final decision. So the question is what one thing helped you decide on the tv you chose? What did it come down to? I think if I hear this from others I'll have more confidence in my own tv search. Right now it feels like i keep going in circles.

Thanks!!! -Erica :)

The answers to these questions are usually what people use to narrow it down to the tv that is best for them: http://www.highdefforum.com/flat-panel-tvs/83609-important-post-new-members-read-who-looking-hdtv-help-here.html

If you answer all those and post them in the thread we can give you some suggestions.

Research like you are doing now.. Don't take what you see in store to make up a HUGE part of your decision. Not the best enviroment in most cases. If you have friends with plasmas or LCD's in their home (especially if the enviroment is close to yours) focus on that. Read reviews from customers as well as proffesional reviewers.

I purchased my 1st plasma almost 3 1/2 years ago and was looking at all techs (DLP, LCD plasma and LCD RP).. With my enviroment the overall PQ and performance of the plasma display won hands down. And that is when 50'' 768p plasmas (Panasonic 500U) went for almost $4000. Now that you can get even a better panel, 1080p 50'' for less than a 1/3 of that price.... All I can say is.. I also have a Sharp LCD too and very much like it, but not as much as my plasma displays.. Just my :2cents..

There is a ton of good info on here and other sites to help you on your HD journey.. Just enjoy and don't get stressed on the way. Let your eyes and gut make the decision fo ya..

As The Beef stated... That link will help us help you based off of you enviroment and requirements...
