Hello everybody, I just wanted to get your opinion on something, I wanted to upgrade from my sony 50" rear projection and I came across a package deal for the sony 52" xbr9 with a blu ray player (bdps360) and surround sound (htss360) for just under 2000. I'm seriously considering it but would love your opinions befor I do. Thank you so much.

IMHO, you can do MUCH better by purchasing a Panasonic plasma ( TC-P50S1 or TC-P50G10 ) and then purchasing any Blu-Ray player and surround system you desire. Personally, I would suggest the Onkyo HT-S6200, which is by far the best surround system for the price. Either of these Panasonic plasmas will run rings around the Sony. You'll not have the lag times, motion blur, poor black levels and limited viewing angles that you would experience with the Sony. Vann's has the TC-P50G10 for $1299 with NO tax and FREE shipping !! They also have the Onkyo HT-S6200 for $699. Even adding the Blu-Ray player of your choice will still have you around $2000 ( again, no tax and free shipping ). You would have one of the BEST HDTVs, as well as the BEST packaged surround system, on the market today. Also check Sears and Best Buy as I understand that they are having fantastic sales on Panasonic plasmas right now !! :D
