Panasonic 42" plasma with no picture

10-09-2009, 12:58 PM
I have a Panasonic 42" plasma TH42PZ77U with led blinking 7 times with no picture. The Sears repair man said the PCB SC board is dead and would cost $988 to fix. I've contacted Panasonic to give them the opportunity to fix, since this seems to be a common problem for Panasonic plasmas and it is just months out of warrany. Since the tv is only used on the weekends and has a $125 surge protector and monster cables I thought I'd get a long life. It had a great picture with no issues until now. I'll post the results.

Remind Panasonic that no one would buy their HDTVs if they thought they would last less than 1.5 years. Also mention this is a known issue and they should pay to fix it or replace it (hopefully for a P42S1:D).

Good luck!

after many calls and faxes, Panansonic finally fixed my TV. They said they extended the warranty on this model because of all the issues.
It pays to be persistant some times.

Another reason to buy a Panasonic product. They seem to care more about repeat business from customers than the others and this shows it. :yippee:
