Hi guys, I have been researching intensly on this site for about a month. I am so confused on the differences between the sony models KDF-60WF655 (the cheapest and one Im leaning toward), KDF-60XS955, KDF-E60A20, and the KDF60XBR950. The KDF-60WF655 doesn't say anything about the 3LCD technology but I have read people posting that they all have it. I know the higher ends have 2 HDMI ports but I dont care about that really. I just want to know why pay more? KDF-60WF655 seems to be the way to go. Opinions please.

Although a bit more exspensive, 2 HDMI ports would be nice... considering an outboard 2 port HDMI switcher is $200+ and a 4 port model can be $300 plus. Even more if you want a remote control.

Alot of source equipment (DVD players, game consoles, etc.) will be HDMI only eventually. It has already happened to a select few DVD players. Eventually your probably only going to see HD content available via HDMI only.

This among other features may make one of the other models more attractive.

Not to highjack this thread, but why would they do that? Composite seems to work just fine so why do away with it? (I am not disagreeing with you either, just asking a question).

It's all an MPAA plot...

But we keep getting haunted by "What's with the stupid error message" questions...

The KDF-E60A20 has 2 HDMI inputs and the KDF-60XS955 speakers are located in a parallel location on the side of the monitor to give a suspended look. Thats not really convincing to pay an additional $500 to $800 for!

It is the additional user adjustments like Gamma and Clear Whitle, etc. the more techie types like about the XS.
And while this topic has bounced around a lot, I believe all the 'E' models have the automatic iris for better contrast/black levels.
They all share similar light engines. I don't think there is anything revolutuonary going on there other than labelling things with new names.
