Grainy picture on Samsung LE23R71B over HDMI
I can’t get a decent picture on my LCD TV Samsung LE23R71B with my HTPC (Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H with integrated Radeon X1250, Athlon X2 4200+, 2GB RAM). First I tried a common VGA cable but the picture was really poor and I couldn’t even get a suitable resolution. HDMI was better and with 1280x720 the resolution was quite satisfying. However the picture was still very grainy and almost all colors looked awful. Google told me to try composite but the result was even worse than with VGA – low resolution, grainy picture and terrible colors. Now I am back with HDMI and I have installed the latest Catalyst drivers. Playing around with various settings in the ATI Control Center slightly improved the picture, but it is still very grainy and has terrible colors. The only thing I haven’t tried is S-Video since I only have an S-Video>SCART cable and with it the TV picture was way worse than with HDMI. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
