Default Is there a good chance 3D TV could make a comeback in the future?

I have a good library of 3D movies and as 3D blu-rays become less and less common I have moved into the 4K spectrum for my movie purchases. I hate that after 5 years of buying 3D movies I had to move on from being able to view them since I have a 4K TV now.

Could you guys see a possibility of 3D TVs coming back in the future, to be as popular as they were in the early 2010s?

If they do, they will be very different. I don't know what they will become, but I think televisions will change a lot in ways we can't even foresee before 3D comes back into the picture. I wouldn't even guess about whether or not Blu Ray or other physical media would be compatible with them. Televisions as we know them may well become obsolete themselves.

It's interesting you said that because TVS are changing .Samsung's micro led technology is in the works. They want the masses to buy these tvs and at a cheap price point. Thanks to TCL and Hisense they have forced the big names to make good tvs at a cheaper price point. Samsung wants to do this is interesting. They are going to use one color blue and move the quantum dot filter to the front instead of like all TVS is in front of the back light which is in the back. Calling it QNED. how far along they are or will we see something in 2020 is not known. Samsung has publicly has stated they will never make an OLED. Micro led or QNED according to them supplant OLEDS . LEDS with it inorganic technology , Life of the TV is a lot longer and no risk of burn in. Will see. But yes OLED will be a thing of the past like all technology down the road.
