I'm gonna pass on these from what I've read he's changed some stuff and new CGI and other BS. I just want the first released edition as it was produced for the theater just remastered & transferred to BD.

They no longer exist according to Lucas.

Rizz, I bet you are going to pass on the new widescreen, colorized version of Casblanca . . . (maybe 3D too)

But it's OK if they turn a Mono movie soundtrack into a multitrack one right? ()

Actually, I think they can do ANYTHING they want to any property they own. I, like Rizz, may not buy it-- but they can do what they want to do.

You know that, that is just BS. Being aware of George Lucas and his overly protective ways, you know he has preserved every single frame of those movies including edit snips. He is just nursing every dollar he can from those films. Believe what you want but all those frames are well secured in his vaults.

I'm sure then when he's made enough bucks from this release. he will miraculously "find" the originals and then release those with their original content remastered in BluRay for those still willing to pay for their SW addiction. Damn that greedy bastard.

this is how i feel too... i'm NOT buying any more versions of these films. i have them on dvd and thats good enough now. if i were to lose or break one the dvds of this set i would then replace it with its blu ray counter part. but its pretty doubtful that would happen as cuz if i didnt dust them, they would be coated by now. my kids really dont like them, i've seen them a million times now so theres no need in my house for another new format version of these films.

So true, the only time I think of these movies is when it's brought up on in threads .... but I would definitely triple dip for a blu copy of the original remastered without any changes (ie new CGI, added scenes etc,).
