Well it's hooked up. Right now they are just playing previews (watching a musical performance right now), but the previews are sorta cool at least for 5 minutes.

I set my DVR to record in 3D an episode of "The Universe" ( ), a show about Mummies, and a show about Dinosaurs tonight.

EDIT - I also decided to record the movie "Journey To The Center of The Earth" in 3D. It was $4.99 Pay-per-view, but oh well, that's not too bad I guess...

That could be reasonably cool....

EDIT - I went to see if my VT25 YouTube widget linked to it. Got a firmware update...

EDIT #2 - The VT25 YouTube widget does not have any "featured" 3D YouTube videos...

The DVR is not recording 3D content.

It just displays the message "This 3D program is broadcast in 720p. Your 3D TV does not support this resolution."

I can get around this message in real-time by first going to ESPN, then changing the channel to n|3D.

But no DVR recording.

Default 3d tv

I got the firmware update today on my VT25, too. I'll keep an eye on YouTube for 3D content, as well.

The problem is "resolved."

It's apparently an issue with my Onkyo 608 receiver.

Have to run video straight to TV from receiver via HDMI and audio from DVR to receiver via optical.

Trying to watch 3D programming now, but it is unwatchable to to juddering audio.

This has nothing to do with the receiver...it happens even with the receiver off and just using the TV speakers.

EDIT - I'm calling DirecTV. These 3D channels are giving me nothing but problems...

EDIT #2 - A DirecTV tech is supposed to call me tomorrow.

Good luck!

Ahhh the joys of being an early adopter. I knew it well with both HD DVD & BD.

Oh yes, it's great.

Some people on other forums are experiencing similar "joys" with their DirecTV 3D channels as well.

Hooray!!

Out of sheer dumbfounded desperation I unplugged nearly my entire A/V setup and plugged it back in and for some reason everything works now!

I'm watching "The Universe" in 3D and it is spectacular!!!

Have you tried accessing YouTube via your 350 disc player ? That way you can send the video directly to your TV via HDMI 1 and audio via HDMI 2 ( or vice versa ).

I'll try YouTube later.

EDIT - DirecTV's n|3D channel is working fine now. Don't know what the problem was.

Was getting ready to watch a bunch of stuff, but I just realized that it's past midnight and too late to be watching all those 3D shows.

I set my DVR to record them though and will watch them tomorrow.

Summary:

Tomorrow I will be watching the following DirecTV 3D offerings:
  • The Universe
  • A Show About Mummies
  • A Show About Dinosaurs
  • A Safari Show
  • Journey To The Center of the Earth (Pay-per-view movie)

It is amazing how often just unplugging electronic devices to reset them works to solve problems. That is why I often tell people it is the first thing to try since it is free.

Glad you got it all working now.

DirecTV and Panasonic are really delivering some 3D goods with their n|3D channel.

I've seen a handful of shows, and some previews of other shows that look good as well. So far they've all been quite good (except for that Journey To The Center of the Earth PPV movie...that film sucked).

My fiance (wow it sounds weird to say that) really enjoyed the show "Dinosaurs Alive!" and she wants to watch the second Dinosaur show they are making. Not sure when they are gonna show it. The "Dinosaurs Alive!" show was pretty good despite the fact that it's the only thing I've seen on my TV yet with any ghosting/crosstalk. It didn't ruin the show however because it didn't happen that often though.

I'm sure some people are excited about the upcoming sports in 3D on DirecTV as well (I could care less because I don't like sports) via the ESPN 3D channel.

The n|3D channel overall is just fantastic for a 3DTV EA.
