Post The gloves are off, round two Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD

High Def Digest is reporting on 4 new movies encoded for both formats, noting Warner switched from using the MPEG-2 compression codec to VC-1 allowing a side by side comparison on three. The result in a nutshell is there is almost no difference!

Links to the comparisons of each title are in the article, go read it yourself.

New blu-Ray titles are 'Firewall,' 'Lethal Weapon,' 'Blazing Saddles' and 'Full Metal Jacket,' which are already available for HD-DVD. If you think codecs are the trick... rumour Fox is utilizing the AVC/MPEG-4 codec.

Just when you thought HD-DVD was ahead of the game, Blu-Ray counters with this consumer win... next hit is cheaper players (PS3 anyone?) and the Christmas season... it'll be wild.
