Default Hi, again

Not a new member but it's been 10 years since I replaced a Hitachi 36" CRT set with a 46" CCFL Samsung (LN850A) flat panel. It's been a very nice set.

I just replaced a secondary Toshiba 30" CRT using Samsung's trade in program. Since it's a secondary set I chose Samsung's entry level 4K set - the 50" NU7100. I was more interested in the smart features as we just severed our cable service with a ROKU Ultra streaming box. I also acquired a 4K Samsung UBD-M9500 BluRay player since my also 10 year old Samsung BD-P2500. It works well but is so s-l-o-w to load a disk.

The new 7100 is destined to go downstairs as the secondary set while I try to convince the wife I need at least a 65" QLED or OLED set. Our primary living area is a large family room where I sit 15' away from the screen. Yeah, I know I'd need a 100" set to appreciate 4K at that distance but that's simply not gonna happen. The 7100 has pretty mediocre HDR performance but I chose it because as a secondary set, the audio will be from the TV speakers, which are above average.
