The V6 is a significantly more expensive option than the 5.0 or 6.2 litre v8, but that is due to the complexities of all of the extra plumbing that is required with twin turbo systems. However it is likely going to move in that direction as all the automakers are going to need to do what they can to try to meet the upcoming CAFE regulations. I think Ford is testing the waters here to see whether a twin turbo would be popular or not in a truck. If the official fuel economy numbers end up being as impressive as people are speculating, then it may indeed be popular. After all, 420lb-ft of torque from just a little off idle is incredible.
