I've had FiOs for almost a week...LOVE it. Way better than TWC on TV and internet. No regrets!

I would. the only reason why I switched was to save $40/month. otherwise, I would go with Comcast.

same internet speed, same quality of tv, but comcast has more free movie choices.

I agree with you on the free movie selection, but totally disagree on the pq. FIOS Pq for me anyway is quite a step up over comcast..

Doesnt Comcast have like 20 HD channels ? Worst of any cable co ?

If youre saving $40 a month with FiOS and are dissapointed with the Free Movie on-demand selections, spend $30 on the movie package, and have access to like 500 movies on demand FREE via HBO, SHO, TMC, Starz , cinemax and Encore. I believe Starz , Encore and Cinemax have Free HD movies on demand..

Not to mention youd be getting like 40 movie HD channels.

According to your Math, youll still be saving $10 a month but will have SOOOOOOOOOOOO much more TV.

Sorry man, comparing Comcast to FiOS is like apples and oranges.

Verizon may have more HD, but Lifetime in HD does not count in my book.

in this economy, we're looking to save anywhere we can, and i would rather not have my life revolve around the idiot box.

Depends on where you live. Around here Comcast has 40 HD channels, compared to, what, 107 (I lost count) for FiOS. I could appreciate the free movies, but from what I understand Comcast now charges for network (ABC, CBS, NBC) VOD. Most providers do - except Verizon. I use those VOD feeds more than I would use the free movie feeds. Also to get all the channels I have now I'd be required to get their sports pack as an add on. And with the movie pack (I'm still grandfathered into the $13/month rate) I get 47 movie channels, with a good number of VOD offerings between them (I'm more likely to watch a movie on Starz VOD than I am to watch it live).

Also, Comcast's HSI around here is somewhat lacking. Between the caps, the slow periods, and the throtling, especially for the price, they simply can't touch FiOS in this area. Other areas already have DOCSIS 3.0, which will help, and in some areas they have a decent number more HD channels.

Finally, Comcast doesn't carry HD Net or HD Net Movies - two of my favorite channels. That alone would stop me from switching to them.

Another option for the $40. bucks you are saving is spending $20. of it a month on Netflix. Netflix is awsome, you can have any movie, or TV season out on DVD shipped to your house. How is that for unlimited movie selection.
