Sometimes I wonder what upper management is thinking. Think of all the customers they failed to retain due to Verizon's incompetence. Do they not want to hold onto as many customers as possible? Do they like having the stigma as a total incompetent corporation?
I agree with Shark. While Verizon does have its problems, it does not even compare to my last cable company Cox. They were horrendous, and when I threatened to switch, the best they could do is give my $5 off my bill when I had been a customer for 10 years. I admit their customer service leaves a bit to be desired, and I think it has to do with improper training and mostly upper management leaving them out of the loop. They really need to fix this, however, I find the # of channels, the quality of the channels and the internet speed, as well as the price is hard to match overall. Most of the reps are polite and curteous. I find with all companies in which I get a bad rep, I ask to speek to another. I have done this at Verizon or just called back. I am sure these REPS don't like it but TOO BAD... I find some to be more knowledgable then others and that is who I prefer to deal with.

BS
A contract is a contract. Why should we see a price increase for what we are contracted to get for 2 years. Verizon's contracts (2 year agreements) are done by professional thieves. (Lawyers) They are one sided in the favor of Verizon. Let Verizon pay you $200 for an early termination. It won't happen. What about the advertisement that told everyone no extra cost for HD. Just the cost of the box. Read the little part that says programming subject to change without notice. Yes, and if you don't like it pay us $200, and leave. Rather like one of those binding arbitration contracts that screw the public. Don't get me wrong, I like my FIOS but hate the bussiness. My contract was screwed with 6 months after I agreed, I had to re agree, with no request by me to change my origional agreement, and according to them they screwed up and could not fix it.

I guess I am spoiled. I came from Directv. But even DTV has a recording now that says call back between 9-5, when you used to be able to make changes, and talk to customer service rep 24-7.

Shark2k,
I DO agree...while it's frustrating as hell, they ALWAYS do try.....sometimes yes, sometimes no!!!!! But IMHO, the service, especially TV, so far outshines EVERYTHING else available that I'm left in the position to DEAL with "billing" and ENJOY the TV. It will get better.....I hope!!!!!!

I think you misinterpreted me... What Fios did was wrong and that is why they made everyone take a 1 year contract... They want a price increase and that is why they did it. I agree with you, our two year contracts should have been honored, but my point was that since they were allowed to break the contract (which legally they did not), of course, like most companies do they will increase the prices on the new one. I am not defending their actions on this and have criticized it since the beginning. With that being said, any company that you have a one-year contract with is going to increase the prices when that is up. However, they technically did not break the contract anyway (It would never hold up in court), they gave us all about 26 new regular HD's. They never promised that the 15 new HD's would be part of the grandfathered package. Again, that being said I think they should have given us those as well for being loyal customers, but I think it would be hard to take legal action and actually find them in breech. They NEVER took away any channels fropm the original premier, they just did not give you the NEW ones. Ethically wrong, legally not much recourse. I could have stuck with my two year contract, I just would not have gotten the 15 new HD's. Clever on their part, however, in some ways bad for customer relations which could hurt them in the long run.

Also, I think they are all crooks as I have had problems with Cox and Comcast also making verbal promises and breaking them. I cannot speak for the Dish, but I do have friends that have had problems and also threatened to switch. I hate to say it, but the old time, caring, customer service oriented company is gone for the most part, or will be as these giant corporations replace them. They cannot compete.

Also, the one thing I must say (I cannot speak for everyone), but my internet is much faster and my TV picture, especially analog and even HD wise is far superior on Fios over my two previous companies. Is this everyone's experience, maybe not!

BTW: One thing I wanted to add is that my bill is STILL cheaper then when I was with Cox. Cox only has 45 HD channels and I have a 102; therefore it is hard to be too angry. I was paying $210 with Cox for 2 HD DVR's. NOw I have 3 and I am paying $184. I forgot to mention this includes Internet and unlimited calling. I did not have unlimited calling with Cox nor did I have 20/5 Internet and the most they told me they could take off a month was $5 after 10 years of being a valuable customer.

Yes I think you are partially correct, and sorry for the BS. Yes it goes back to "Programming subject to change without notice". But they have been taking the HD channels away, and only giving the local HD channels to people unless you agree to a new one year only contract. I have read that if you call them, complain, and listen to the HD extreme sales pitch, you may get grandfathered if you push. Then perhaps you will get back only what you had before, perhaps more. Rather dirty in my opinion. It has not yet happened to me, but the forum is full of people reporting that the HD vanished and they started getting only Local HD. Don't get me wrong, I love my FIOS and had it installed with phone and internet on day one in my area. I guess it goes back to, you can't please all the people all the time.

Have a good one, and I don't mean to be so harsh.

Yes, I know.... I was one of those people. I had to agree to a new one year HD EXTREME deal, however I only lost 15 hd stations. I still would have received the initial rollout with the premier package... I just coudn't get...
FX HD, WGN, ESPN NEWS, SPEED, FOX BUSINESS, FOX NEWS, TRAVEL, PLANET GREEN, QVC, BIO, DISNEY, TOON DISNEY, MGM, HALLMARK, and ABC FAMILY.
Also, I could not get the 5 HD sports stations... When I upgraded I received all 20. As I have said, however, (no offense to Fishing fans) I could have gone another 50 years without the WORLD FISHING NETWORK HD.

BTW: Does anybody watch WORLD FISHING NETWORK? Just curious. How about QVC HD??

Dude! Are you kidding me! I can't live without QVC HD! I've got 2 HDTVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room and both are 'locked and loaded' on QVC HD!

I'm thinking about going to Wal-Mart to pick up a cheap Vizio for the bathroom, because I don't want to be away from QVC HD for even the time I spend in the bathroom!

By the way, that's all sarcasm!

We know you like to see the quality of women's clothing you are buying in crystal clear quality.

-Just kidding

Or am I, maybe I am projecting what I really do.
