FIOS DVR Software Update - Sept 18th

I just got off the phone with FIOS support and was informed that there was a software update due to be rolled out Sept. 18th which they will be addressing the HD streaming issue (not being able to from home media dvr) as well as other bugs.

Wondering if anyone has more information - I find it very cool that Verizon does periodic updates

Yeah, there was a thread about this on dslreports. They're in the process of rolling out the s/w - Portland, OR already has it. There are supposed to be 100+ bug fixes in this roll out, in addition to some very cool new functionality. From what I've seen of the roll out schedule, we here in SE PA are supposed to be the last market to get it on, IIRC, 9/25.

Just a heads up: the update was supposed to be deployed in Southern California on 8/19. As of 8/21 this has not occured, so future dates are suspect. Perhaps they're fixing the new bugs discovered after the Portland deployment before the do more.

I think you are right PLJ2. Besides streaming and bug fixes there are supposed to be more widgets, like sports and games...

Someone in OR also reported that remote DVR scheduling is now working! That's a pretty cool feature that I'm looking forward to getting.
