Default dvr recording problems

Does anyone else have problems recording lately? My series aren't recording and I can't get a show to record by pressing the record button. I was hoping this had something to do with getting nearer to adding new channels since I'm in the Philly area and they're due to be added in the next week or so and would be fixed soon.

I'm also in the Philly area, but no, I haven't had this problem. Based on this thread and your other one, I bet your DVR just needs to be reset. Unplug it, let it sit for a few seconds, and plug back in. If that doesn't work, you may want to get Verizon to reset it remotely - it's a more intense of a reset. You can also do that yourself, through their website. Go to verizon's website, go over to the right where it says My Verizon. Select that link. You'll have to log in - if you haven't done so, register. When you log on, go to the FiOS TV section. Over on the right you should see your STBs listed. You can reset them from there.

If your DVR contains recordings to nearly it's volume limit, an attempt to record an additional show will be ignored. There are instances where this attempt disables future recording attempts even after erasing recordings to make room. It is best to reboot the DVR (remove the AC connection for a few seconds).

Without knowing what DVR product you have, let me say that a 180 GB HDD can contain 20 hrs of HD or 100 hrs of SD.

If the DVR is full, it will erase recorded shows and record new ones. It will only do what you say if you have all your recording set as "keep until you delete".
