Default HD DVR - not an option?

I'm ordering my new service (switching from DirecTV to FiOS) and I don't see an option for the HD DVR, is there a known shortage right now?

Thanks for your help.

They do not list it when ordering online but don't worry they do have them. All their DVR boxes are HD from what I understand. I called up with the same concern you have and they informed me that they do carry the HD-DVR but gave no real reason why it's not listed as an option when ordering online.

It's a Motorola HD-DVR.

Their website is pretty pisspoor. I also had the same question about that. How hard could that have been to convey?

But basically, their boxes' capabilities are tiered. Standard. HD. DVR (which has HD). Multiroom DVR (which also has HD.)

UPDATE: Got on the phone with them yesterday, got the HD DVR, 2 Standards and set it up for a 3/24 install. I bundled it with phone and internet. Sounds like a great deal. I'm taking the plunge from DirecTV who actually gave me good service, but the price is better, and I'm hoping the picture quality for both HD and SD will be better.

I left DirecTV after nine years for FiOS back in November and at first experienced a lot of problems, all of which were resolved with due time. I'm very happy with the service now, as is the wife and kids. The HD quality is exceptional and the SD is crystal clear - better than I ever had with DTV. My only advice is beware the DirecTV cabling that FiOS techs will plug into. At install, I had absolutely the worst SD picture quality on a new Sony 46" flat panel in the living room and the FiOS techs said there was nothing they could do. Eventually a few weeks later, a tech traced the issue to the DTV cable in the wall. It had been damaged at some point, and even though the DTV signal came though it alright, the FiOS signal crapped out going though it - go figure... Once they replaced it, SD was top notch!

Good luck and remember to post here if you have any issues. Enough of us have been down the road before and might be able to help.
