Default FiOS and a new Samsung... Blurry/Pixelated?

Hey, I just got my sweet new 19" Samsung for my room. But it's not working too great with my FiOS. I had already made these posts on another forum, but I think I'll get more help here, at least I hope. And the answers I got, I don't quite understand either.

BUT...

As it's crystal clear with the Xbox, TV isn't at all. I have this new thing "Verizon FiOS" that uses a "Fiber Optic" cable and is supposedly extremely clear with a crisp picture. But, it's not anymore, with this TV. The image is all fuzzy and pixelated. I figure there is maybe a setting to be changed... or SOMETHING? I really don't know, I tried everything with the TV, and there isn't really much with the FiOS box to change.

I could really use some help if anyone has had similar problems or has this TV. The TV is here.

If you think it would help if I tried to get pictures of everything, I can do so.

That is because my TV is 768p all of the time and has to upscale whatever input it's given. So, when it's crappy analog TV, it upscales it to even crappier, bigger tv. So, I still watch most of my standard TV on my 32" Sony and only use my 50" HDTV for DVD's and high def channels.

HD cable should look amazing though.

It would be great if you guys had suggestions, similar problems, same TV, or can just help me out. Please & Thank you.

Well, to start with, which FiOS STB do you have - the SD box, the HD box, or the HD-DVR box? And what cabling are you using to attach the TV to the STB?

To view HD programming you must have one of the HD STBs. And you must connect it to the TV with either an HDMI cable or component cables.

Then you must set up the HD STB to send the proper signal to the TV - you want the TV Type set to 16:9 and the HDMI output to 1080i or 720p. What are the settings now?

Tell us what you have and maybe we can help.

Well, I'm not trying to view HD at all. All I want is for my normal TV to some in clear like the other TVs in our house do.

I show you a pic soon.
