Default CBS missing from new channel scans over QAM

I have Internet and Local TV only with FIOS in Central NJ. My 3 HDTVs all tune with their internal QAM tuners to CBS/NBC/FOX/ABC just fine.

I recently replaced one of those TVs and it could not pick up CBS when I scanned for channels. I hooked up the old TV that I still had in its place, fired it up and got CBS. So then I got curious and did a re-scan for channels on the old TV and CBS would no longer come up.

So if the TV had "saved" CBS in its tuner "memory" it can still get CBS, but new scans for CBS fail. A call to Verizon's tech support was beyond frustrating. I got them to give me a basic digital adapter for free but does anyone have any clue what's going on? Why is the signal fine if I was already tuned to it but it won't show up on new scans?

Default

So I had a tech out this weekend and we figured it out in case anyone comes here with the same problem. For NBC, FOX and ABC, the QAM signal is coming over with guide info and simplified channel numbers (4-1, 5-1, 7-1). The signal for CBS is apparently not coming over with this information so my QAM tuner was "finding" it all along, it was just tuned as station 71-25 and labeled "No Info". The tech didn't seem to have any ideas about why that would be and I'm not hopeful the signal will be addressed further upstream (as I don't believe it is an issue at my house specifically or with the QAM tuner in the TV). But hopefully this helps someone along the way.
