Default Pfishing scam or legit?

Received an e-mail saying the Verizon.net will no longer offer e-mail.
It gives the option of KEEPING my Verizon.net addy but I need to transfer it to AOL...weird.
So then a click on "KEEP MY Verizon.net address" gets me to another page asking for a ton of information, too much, to set up the account with AOL.

Anyone else get this?
Opinion? Legit or scam?

Switching e-mail address will mean notifying 100 or more people. Life is too short for this.

Thank you Terry.

What an unnecessary pain in the ass this change is. (Did we not all give a quiet cheer when we finally said goodbye to all things AOL...now like in Poltergeist, "They're BA-ACK."

I too do not like AOL, but use it anyway for Email only, I don't like the way it try's to take over the system and run thing it's way.

Another bad thing happening is that Firefox is dumping all support for some older user's, anyone still running XP and Vista will be left to the wolves.

There are tons of people out there still running older systems that can't be upgraded, as they can't afford it.

What do these software guys think that everyone can just run out and buy a new computer just to keep their software?

If I were you I would get a Gmail account and dump AOL also.

For the longest time win 10 upgrade was free- as affordable as it gets.

Yes true, but some older systems were left in the dust with that so called "Free" version, you had to be running Vista or higher to get it, older systems with XP were left out.

I have tons of customers still running XP as they can not afford to go out and by a new PC or laptop every-time someone upgrades OS software.

It seams that no one cares about a lot of the older generation living on a very fixed budget, but still needs some sort of communication on the web.
