Router slow-down?

i have the older 1-antenna router. I started noticing that over a 2 week period web pages start to load more slowly. I reboot the router and the difference is dramatic. I've been doing this now for a couple of months. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought I'd ask before I talk to Verizon.

PS: I don't use wireless so it's turned off in the router, if that matters.

I have never noticed Ted. I HAD the single antena job and now have the dual and, like you, have wireless turned off...afraid of hackers.

When I had the nighmare slowdown to near nothing every night from 8 to 10 for most of a year they came and switched out the router.Of course that did nothing and was solved only with a rerouting on a different bundle (or some such gobbledygook) from the main office.

If you have to reboot often, tell Verizon about it and they will send you the new Actiontec MI424WR...it has pretty maroon accents.

Plus TWO antennae that you will have no use for.

A wise fear - it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you. In my profession I hear about a lot that doesn't make it to the news - the hacking of the NY Times made the news because, well, they're a news company. Most companies who are hacked don't want that news to get out.

I've got 600 apartments in 3 attached towers so that's a LOT of possibilities for hackers.
When we finally get a laptop soon, I will HAVE to use wireless but not until then and my password will be 3T5j87oBaMa22AsSWiPer (and it will take me a half hour to sign on.)

I maintain a WordPress site for our parrot rescue aviary, that was getting hacked so I brought in a group that specializes in hardening WordPress sites. One of the things they did was change the admin password, and it's even longer and more complex than your example. But no one has hacked the site since then.
