For some reason when I change the "Mode" that my onscreen guide is on to only show "Subscribed" channels it is now defaulting back to "All Channels" after exiting for some reason. It used to keep the setting when you opened the guide. Anyone know if this is an 9.1 bug or just something with my STB?

Do the follow: Menu >> Settings >> Televsion >> Last Viewed Guide State >> Enable
That should keep it from reverting back. -Shark2k |

......speaking about 1.9, has anyone noticed random pixelation. It's not all the time, it's not on any particular channel but I've seen it a bunch of times. It's happening on both my STP's AFTER the 1.9 upgrade. Any help or ideas??????

I have tried what you said Shark but it still does not remembered the subscribed after I turn it off. Bob, I can honestly say I have no pixellation issues. I think you have something wrong.

Thank you for the reminder. I haven't set it yet for SUBCRIBED CHANNELS.
It will be very nice to avoid the message "To subscribe call...blah, blah" after getting my hopes up about watching something I do not get. I hope I don't run into the glitch. |

I made the switch to Modes: Subscribed channels and LAST VIEWED GUIDE STATE, thanks shark. it worked fine.
BUT TMP, a possible confusion, it only works for the full guide: the single channel info (small bar under picture showing single channel) will always say ALL CHANNELS even though channel surfing will show only SUBCRIBED CHANNELS...for no discernible reason, probably a glitch with no consequences. BUT the full guide will rememember only your SUBSCRIBED CHANNEL CHOICE and display only them. That's all you need. Make sure you have also enabled MODES (MENU>>SYSTEM>>TELEVISION >>MODES>>ENABLE.) Yes I had this same issue on multiple channels. Verizon came out to my location multiple times and could never resolve issue. I live in the Tampa Bay area. They replaced fiber optics lines, ONT, cables, set top boxes, splitters, connectors, routers. In other words they did everything and I continued to have the same issues. I ended up dealing with a tech manager and he recorded some of the same shows I did just to compare the pixel problem. Turns out he saw the same issues I was seeing. He escalated the issue to a higher department in Verizon. I never had these issues until the 1.9 update in July 2011. We went back and forth for 6 months and finally I dropped the tv part of Fios because they couldn't resolve the problem. I also live in a brand new house (4 years old) and have high end cables that were run through the house. My point here is other people in Florida are experiencing the same problem as the manager was able to see the same thing on his end. I am now with DirecTv for the reasons stated above. In my mind Verizon has made no effort to resolve the pixellation problem and it is unacceptable for the what I was paying every month.

I too get some infrequent pixellation, I see it like once a day, sometimes not at all. Its a split second then its fine for a long time. It doesnt bother me, but it did start after 1.9 was installed. Wierd. I absolutely love 1.9 though.

I spoke with a Verizon field manager today to see if there was any progress made determining the cause of pixellation on multiple channels. This is the same manager I dealt with a few months ago who was attempting to resolve my issues. He stated that Verizon has acknowledged the problem and it is a glitch in the software version 1.9 which was released in the Tampa Bay area in July 2011. This makes total sense because my issues started in July right after the update to 1.9. There are now numerous reports from customers in different areas experiencing the same problem. He stated that everyone in the state of Florida with 1.9 is having this issue. I would have to assume that all of the markets are affected by this. The good news is Verizon is releasing an update in June or July which is supposed to resolve the pixellation issue.

Dont get me wrong, they did a wonderful job with 1.9. but such a "bug" is just not acceptable; even if it IS a rare daily occurance at times.
