Default Green screen of death??

My daughter told me that she is getting a green screen on a couple of channels. I had forgotten by the time I got home, and she didn't say anything about it. Just the other day my wife said we were having the same thing. Both boxes are HD DVR's. When I came into our room, there was sound but just a green screen. I unplugged the STB, waited a minute and then plugged it back in. Picture was back. Went into daughter's room & did the same thing. My daughter told me that she had done that, which is why she never said anything else.

So finally, here's my question....Why did this happen? Might it be time to replace the boxes? Do I need to contact Verizon? All help is much appreciated.

It happened to me last week and I also unplugged my cable box and plugged it back in to reset it. That fixed the problem. But I'm also wondering why it happened. I have the qip7100 2.
