So about 2.5-3 years away they will make a 40" OLED, but it will likely cost big money. I guess that around 2016 a 50" OLED might be semi affordable unless they speed up the process.

We have to wait and see, but no one should be holding off buying a HDTV now waiting for the OLED displays IMO.

Can someone tell me the difference from the LED they sell and make now like Samsung and Vizio and the OLED that you are talking about now is? I see the LED's in the store now and not impressed with viewing angles and other things. Will the OLED's have superior viewing angles and image blur?

OLEDs are completely different compared to LED backlit LCDs. The LEDs you see now are fraudulently marketed IMO. They are not LED TVs, but rather LCDs with LED back lighting rather than florescent back lighting. They still rely on the LCD crystals to twist to block the constant back light to produce black and do it porrly compared to plasma and OLED which have a light source in each pixel.

From everything I have read and seen, the poorer viewing angles with those LED backlit LCDs are worse than regular LCDs and at home it is even more noticeable in home lighting versus the ultra bright store lighting. OLED like plasma lights each pixel individually so they are excellent with viewing angles.

Since there is only one OLED TV out to purchase I would say it was the 11" Sony that retails for $2,500.00. Cheesus can confirm.

LG has reaffirmed its OLED TV roadmap, but warned that the price of tellies based on the technology won’t match those of LCDs for at least seven more years.

It will be like Arnie's Total Recall wall. Remember that? It will be very cool but imagine even in 7 years how much it would cost to do a whole wall like that?

You could have a room with all walls OLED. That could make an awesome first person shooter game where you are in the middle of the action.
