Ultra high-definition 4K2K displays, able to display four times the resolution of current Full HD TVs, were also mostly AWOL at the show. However, Samsung did tease us with several Quad HD prototype LED-backlit LCD models (pictured below) displaying images of breathtaking delicacy. HCC was told that an 82in 3840 x 2160 pixel screen from the brand would ‘launch in the US market 2013...possibly.’ Better start saving those pennies.
Samsung doesn't have the Ultra Hi-def market to itself though. Toshiba is expected to show an eight million pixel screen at this year’s CEATEC Expo in October, which upscales Full HD images to 4K2K
