What UHD content sources do you have in France?

Here in the USA we have DirecTV, Netflix, Amazon, VUDU and 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc.

Basically all our satellite and cable is still barely HD but we do have UHD Blurays, Amazon and Netflix and YouTube as well (although such services generally release seasons about a year later than the USA).

The main reason I have convinced myself I need a 4k is gaming as I intend to get the new Xbox in November.

Current TV is a 10 year old 52" Sharp 1080 so even with upscaling 'deterioration' I expect the new tv will still out perform it in HD and also allow HDR 4k gaming with the XB1X in November.

Europe shows steady progress in 4KTV

Quote:
The analyst found that nearly 12 million 4KTVs were sold in Europe during 2016, just over double the figure for the previous 12 months. The main area for sales were the UK and Germany, each contributing two million, closely followed by France (1.7 million), Russia (1.4 million) and Italy (880 000).

In 2016, 4KTV represented 22% of 53 million of TV sets sold in Europe compared with only 10% the year before. However, Dataxis noted that the European 4KTV set market remains far below China where more than 25 million 4KTVs were sold in 2016. Furthermore, Dataxis estimates that two-fifths of TV shipments were 4K for the first quarter of 2017 against a third of sales for 2016.

Looking to the future, Dataxis estimates that 4K TV sales in Europe will reach 17 million by the end of 2017. It predicts that 4K sales in Europe will continue to increase rapidly despite the lack of 4K content and price drop and adds that the democratisation of 4K made by the manufacturers and the dynamism seen in the Chinese market show that 4K sales are bound to rise in Europe in the coming years.
