Max distance is 3100 on 24g pic, and thats usually the 19 meg profile. Sometimes it will work at 25 meg. depends on the condition of the plant whether its aerial or buried. Pic or pulp.

26g is around 2800 ft.

and i havent seen 28g plant where i work. Not saying its not out there.
You are correct on the gauge of wire, but footage may change depending on technology in market apparently. My numbers are from the Engineering department.

Smile Uverse picture quality

I have had my UVERSE for over a week now. So far so EXCELLENT!
UVERSE puts my Time Warner Cable Service to shame! More HD channels and (although it my be subjective) MY HD channels appear crystal clear on ALL my HD TVs. I have Hitachi Plasma, Sharp LCD and a Mitsubishi DLP.

No more lock ups or lock outs. All channels functions all the time! A miracle! When I use the remote its instant gratification(just like old regular TV). Unlike my old cable service with the digital delay seemingly built in to my service. Also being able to record and view shows from anyl TV is a sweet feature.

I am VERY impressed. I am VERY happy.

IF you are frustrated with your cable company, etc...get UVERSE. IF it's available that is...seems many people still cannot get the service.

I love my uverse! Course I may be biased. I also have FTTP and don't have to deal with a lot of the issues the majority of other uverse accounts. No old wires!

plus, i would love to see your statistics that show that "90%" of the responses say Uverse HD isn't as good as Direct TV?
Would you also please list the "dozens of forums" that you have gleaned this information from?
This "We have more HD content than anyone else is a bunch of crap". Lifetime, Food Channel, Home Decorating, etc are NOT shows on my schedule and I could care less if they're in HD or SD. Not going to watch them anytime soon.

All I care about is ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, HBO and a few other channels that cater to sports. These channels provide 99% of my viewing. My wish for Christmas is an option to ONLY subscribe to the channels I want at maybe half the price of a normal subscription to all the crap HD channels that are mostly lettereboxed.

Well, i can say this with att. I dont ever even look at the SD channels. I cant say the same with comcast and with directv, they have their HD scattered all over the place. I did hide the SD duplicates with them though.

Default U-Verse vs DTV picture quality

People tend to complain when they have a problem and not rave when all is great. You have to ask to get their views. That is what Consumer Reports does and why U-Verse is rated higher.
