Post U-Verse-Your TV receiver is temporarily unable to connect to the AT&T U-verse TV..."

I have two STBs (VIP1216 and VIP1200) currently connected to my U-Verse network and all is good. I have two additional STBs (VIP1216 and VIP1200) that indicate the following messages.

1) Your TV receiver is temporarily unable to connect to the AT&T U-verse TV service

2) Client Initialization error: error getting bootstrap

My initial thought is that they have a "TV2 Client Version" that is incompatible with my network.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what is causing the issue and how the STBs can be reprogrammed/reflashed?

Sounds like you need to call AT&T. Are these receivers you got from AT&T when you had U-verse installed?

Only one dvr is given per account.

Please Be Advised AT&T does not sell any boxes and all sales on ebay or any sale sites are illegal. !!GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking that the receviers were not authorized by AT&T for his account.

I agree whith HDMann, if you got them from somewhere other than AT&T (must have) then try to get any money back. Then get 2 additional STBs from AT&T. With the whole house player feature the 2nd DVR is not really necessary anymore.

Even over Coax, the box is still sending digital signals back and forth to the Residential Gateway. And the Gateway then calls the shots as to whether or not the STB will receive a stream or not.

If the box is not authorized, the Gateway will know this. And in turn, will not allow the stream to that box.
