i have a Town house condo , where the cable run can not be accessed TWC has it locked, my question is ..would they start at the 1st point in the condo , for the phone line
and then run cat 5 to all phone outlets , which would then become " so called cable outlets and dsl " , if i recall one of neighbors stated they installed his condo and it was all cat 5 , taking 8 hours to do so ....i could ask my neighbor but he is out of town , and i hate to wait to ask ,,lol.....

Everyone's is a bit different.
RBinck, the local Guru here at HDF had one type of install, but it was different from mine. Mine they came in through the phone line. The line for the TV has a phone to coax converter. I didn't even know there was such a thing. But I would assume everyone in my building was installed the same way since our cable boxes are locked as well. |

They can install U-verse through phone lines if there is a low enough data error rate in your location. The signal come in over twisted copper anyway and can be converted to coax for ease of installation to use existing coax, but as I understand it, cat5 is better. You might want to read this about my installation: U-Verse IPTV

They offer up to 18 mbps here in Houston and as I understand it you can upgrade after the installation. I'd start out at 3 mbps and move up if necessary, myself.

Yes, the new Max speed in most areas is 18 Mbps. You can also upgrade the service yourself online if you want. No need to call into the call center.

if I am not mistaken the download speed really isn't what you are looking for for Slingbox anyway. The whole purpose is how fast it can get your information uploaded to you. The 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 all share the same a 1.0Mbps upload speed. The Max 10.0 and Max18 both have a 1.5Mbps upload speed, but they are a $20 and or $30 jump from Elite at $35.
