Default UVERSE in Chicago?

Does anyone have Uverse in Chicago? They just finished installing all the fiber optics to their main switch behind my house. I am currently a Comcast Internet/HDTV customer with their basic digital package for about $100.00 per month.

I run 2 MAC's and 3 Windows PC's on a wired ethernet network along with (2) VOIP phone lines and some additional wireless devices. I am trying to determine if the switch in vendors will give me a technology boost on the Internet side and the HD-TV side since the money is about the same.

I only have (1) one HD-TV at this time and (2) Standard TV's.

What really concerns me about Comcast is their attempts at throttling back users who are downloading large bit torrent files and/or streaming video or denying access to I-Tunes for Apple TV. Also, they are now beginning to compress (3) three HD shows into the same data stream instead of two therefore reducing the HD PQ.

Price being similar, I really hate to go through the whole network setup again if their HD PQ is not up to the quality of Comcast even though they are degrading some of it and their Internet service is not as good as Comcasts either.

Ok wow I just got off the phone with a uverse tech and I found a lot of deal breakers with this service. I was really intrigued and wanted to change over from D* to uverse. Here are the problems.

1. You can only watch on HD channel in the house. So if my wife is watching american idol in hd downstairs and I want to watch something in HD upstairs you cannot do that. They say this will be fixed by end of month.

2. If you want to record 2 things in HD. Nope.

3. If you want to watch a recording from your DVR downstairs on the upstairs tv. Nope.

4. Want to record something you are watching upstairs to your DVR. Nope.

5. Also they have no sports packages such as MLB, NFL or NBA jsut to name a few.

As of right now I would wait for the service to mature, I give it 2 yrs and I think that it will be good, but right now it is way too wet behind the ears to jump to.

I would love to, but I guess I will have to stick with Directv.
