Yes I read that yesterday, but as I said I don't think I got caught in the outage. The time when I was out was different. I'm not sure I was watching TV during the outage even.

I have not stopped Directv just yet. I'll probably keep it through Sept to give me time to transfer the stuff from my TiVo and to get a load of children's programs on the TiVos. That way I'll use them for my grandchildren when they visit.

But I'm pretty well done with Directv. Being a customer for many years and seeing the slowness of their quality improvements and their marketing ploys has got me completely disenchanted with them. If U-verse does not work out, I'll probably go to Comcast basic cable.
