New Uverse Markets Detroit and Redford MI

I am an AT&T emplyee and I have an installation date for thursday may 24. I am in Redford just outside of Detroit. One of my co- workers also is getting his installed Friday the 25th. Dont know if it is just for employees or not. I dont think so but we will find out soon. I think the press realease will be Monday the 21st. I sure hope they have fsn detroit in HD Ive got to have my Pistons,Wings and Tigers in HD. I will be saving almost 50 dollars a month.

For about the same channel lineup and features as I was with Brighthouse cable. In fact more channels and features. Cant wait . Any questions just ask Ill try to answer.

Dont know much about the rest of the state other than our local area here. Ive heard Livonia and Dearborn were going to be the 1st. I was suprised to find out about us. But when I hear ill try to post it asap

Hey, great to hear U Verse is coming to the Detroit area! Is U-Verse currently available in Troy? I'm hoping to find a cheaper package than what I'm getting with WoW; internet/TV/VoIP for $90/month

Any word on when their HD will not be so bad? Their SD quality is beautiful but they have the worst HD quality of any provider. Also only being able to have one HD stream at a time is bad. Recording three things in HD at once using the Dish 622 has spoiled me. I need at least 4 HD streams at once to keep the wife and kids happy.

I Didnt realize the HD quality was bad. thats the first ive heard.well I did hear something about pixelation jitters or something but that theyve corrected that problem. Ive also heard they will be adding more hd streams soon. but after thursday i will let you know first hand of my install eperience and the quality of the product. Stay tuned

i was so anxious for this annoucement yesterday as I thought it would be in Novi but when I looked its not, I was so excited, there are VRads all over the place here, oh well I got my hopes up hopefully they will come to Novi in the next few weeks. As I will be switching, I can't stand Bright House anymore they claim to make life easier that is a bunch of bull.

Oh I have many, many reasons. For starters, I have AT&T FTTP service..... max speed 5mbps.

The points that I've mentioned are generally accepted fact. I have 3 HDTV's and with DirecTV I have HD DVR's on all three of them. There is no way AT&T could do that, even with pair bonding.

And my latest reason for hating them is the sockpuppets that sign up and rave about how great the service is, how excited they are to get it and then make comments like `oh I've never heard that it has problems` .... meanwhile they also post that they are AT&T employees in a seperate thread.

Trust me, AT&T is spending money flooding the online communities trying to spread propaganda and excitement over their crap service... Fake blogs, `friendlys`, employees... it all makes me sick.

There are people like you trying to go around communities saying the AT&T is bad just like you are doing when they haven't even tried the service or just to say it because they don't like AT&T for some reason. So it goes both ways. I have Bright House Networks I am not an cable or AT&T employee and to tell you the turth I'm going to switch to AT&T because it takes so long for the cable companies to get a channel or a HD channel. Also, Bright House has really made me mad. Plus, I have heard people saying the Comcast is craptastic meaning it' horrible. Another thing I like about AT&T is you don't have to pay for a "sports pack", "movie pack" etc... They have a lot more channels as well then what Comcast and Bright House has.

I on the other hand am not a "sockpuppet" and have found my AT&T broadband service for my computer (even though it's DSL) slightly faster then my previous cable broadband (and not down as much).

And I don't really care if the published numbers state otherwise, all I care about is the service I receive.

I actually am very pleased with my AT&T service but, if something better comes along I will change.

I don't know why he hates AT&T, if it because he thinks AT&T has everything well he better think to himself that cable companies have everything as well. Actually cable companies were the first ones to compete against phone companies by introducing their "digital phone." I think what AT&T is doing is going to be the next cable through the Internet/phone lines. Knowing from lots of people here in Michigan they are fed up with their cable companies Charter/Bright House (they suck got to give credit for good customer service though)/Comcast. The are fed up on how they don't add channels once they come out, and they always have to wait, and how satellite and AT&T has a lot more channels and doesn't know why cable doesn't have all the channels as U-Verse does. What I have been hearing from people is that once AT&T is more live out here in Michigan in which I read there will be a lot more cities going live within a few weeks, I think you will be seeing a lot of cable companies stressing on what they must do to compete with AT&T. What I read it seems like right now cable companies aren't scared of AT&T, but they better be.

Also another thing I'm with you on if I don't like AT&T I will switch back, but I think I will like U-Verse.
