Default VIP2250 DVR anybody have one installed ??

Was curious to see if anybody has one of the new motorola VIP2250's yet ??

As small as a regular vip1200 but has double the size HDD as the vip1225 has.

Any reviews ??

Technician said that's what their being issued now. Along with the 1216's & 1225's.... It's hit or miss if you get one.

They're black & pretty much same size as the regular non- DVR stb's

Nope. When I asked they said they had not hit California yet. I'd love to replace by silver one.

Default Vip 2250

I had a 1225. Some 1/4 second audio drops. I called ATT and told them my neighbor has Time Warner and he has no drops (veiled threat).

I said I wanted a new 2250 to correct the problem. No argument from the techie; she said a new DVR would be there in 3 days.

The 2250 is a lot smaller than the 1225 and the hard drive is a lot bigger. I'm in the KC area.

Have heard that you can hook up an external HDD to the 2250 to store recordings

HI ALL. AFTER Over a couple of years of complaining and techs coming over. FINALLY got them to send me a replacement for that crap dvr, 1225. 2250 is a world of difference for my application. The sound for my itty bitty MAN CAVE; is alive when I dvr'ed some movies for off day entertainment. No more sputter or cut out of surround from the channels that were once a problem. An in my opinion the quality of pic is better also.. FINALLY enjoying what I have been paying for.... FINALLY.

I got one installed over the weekend and my wife tells me right now it's completely dead. I enjoyed it while it was on and I came from Directv. Haven't cancelled yet so we'll see how it is when I get home. It does have an esata port on the back but I haven't tested if it will take the external hd or it's turned off

*ac cable fell out of the back. re-plugged it in all good to go. I haven't tested any external ports though. It does have 20% utilized and says I have 338 hours of SD or 123 hours of HD recording left. Once I start using up the space, I'll be more motivated to see about expansion.

New policy: U300 or higher gets a 2250 and 1 wireless stb on install.
Also, dabig25, the 2250 has an esata port...for future use of external hdd.

2250 is pretty much the only dvr left in stock in CT atm.
