Many Netflix movies no longer in HD
Has anyone noticed that a large number of movies that were available in HD can now be streamed only in SD? I noticed the HD symbol missing from them when I was looking through my queue the other day. Many are older titles, but there are newer ones as well, like "Rango", "The Conspirators", and "True Grit" (new version). Anyone know what's going on?

I actually noticed this as well, specifically with rango. I could only imagine its a money thing.....they probably save green backs with the lower resolution videos...and or contractual of course.

Not a money thing, more likely due to technical issues. Those movies that were downgraded to SD are now available in HD again.

most of it is bandwidth, lesser popualr qequipment will not get much in the way of it. You will see more popular stuff getting all the perks. We dropped it just because of that. Much cheaper to go around the corner to BB and get HD/ and HD audio.

Again, all of the movies that were downgraded are once again in HD. Whatever the reason, it was temporary and had nothing to do with how popular some of the titles are.

It's still pretty good. New content gets added all the time and there is a lot of HD content. Amazon Prime is good, too.

I wish I could stream Amazon Prime through my Oppo 93. I have both Netflix and Prime but Oppo only does Netflix. Prime isn't good enough yet for me to make a special hardware purchase for it.
