Default This has been killing me!!

After the Raven's last game, they said Joe Flacco is the first rookie qb to win his first two playoff games...

What i want to know is, how is that possible??? Didn't Big Ben win a superbowl in his rookie year with the steelers? And to win a SB, you need to win at least two playoff games. So how is this?

Ben did not play in his rookie season, but he was the first "first year" starting QB to win it all.

Ben Roethlisberger was a first round pick of the Steelers in 2004.

He did not start the season but did start 13 games going 13-0 during the season as the Steelers finished 15-1.

With a first round bye, the Steelers won a divisional playoff and then lost the next week in the AFC Championship game. Therefore, he only won one playoff game as a rookie.

The success of Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan has been truly remarkable.

For the most part, rookie quarterbacks struggle in the NFL.

Peyton Manning, John Elway and the vast majority make one wonder whether or not their team made the right decision in drafting their franchise quarterback.

Dan Marino was an exception. More recent was Roethlisberger and now Flacco and Ryan.

You can't minimize the achievement, rookie quarterbacks are rookie quarterbacks.

They will make mistakes, they will struggle. Does that mean Flacco and Ryan are going to be the best of all time.

Of course, time will tell.

It never hurts to be on a good team and all of these players were on good teams.

Still, a great accomplishment.

I wish them luck.

Last year's champion is this year's forgotten team.

I don't see Giant jerseys any more. And, I can't remember the last time I saw a Patriot jersey either.

Who knows, maybe a Cardinal Jersey will become fasionable.

At least, until next year.

Hopefully, soon, very soon, Silver and Black will be the rage.

Let the "expert" Steeler fan tell ya how it was...

Big Ben took over in game three for Tommy Maddox his rookie season & went 13-0 during the regular season as a starter.

The Steelers who were the #1 seed in the AFC had a BYE so they did not play in the first Wild Card Week.

Then they beat the Jets 20-17 in OT in the divisional playoffs.

Then the Steelers lost at Home to the patriots 41-27 in the AFC Championship game.

So Big Ben only had one playoff win in his rookie season

This is inaccurate. Kurt Warner won the Super Bowl in 1999, his first year as a starting QB for the St. Louis Rams. I'm sure there are other examples as well, this was just an easy one.
