Yikes, they won't make the playoffs now. Good news for the Warriors, in a twisted sort of way, because they are the ninth best team right now in the West.

The west is absolutely crazy. It may be true that it is easy to make the NBA playoffs but not this year in the West! If I am not mistaken if the Warriors were in the East they would be the third or fourth seed. It is very possible that a 60 win team won't make the playoffs. Currently the Mavs are two games out of first but 2.5 games out of missing the playoffs altogether. Crazy...

Yeah, very tight in the West. A bad road trip could see a top-seeded team in 9th place when they get back home to lick their wounds.

BTW, I think you meant that a 50 win team might miss the playoffs, not 60. That would be incredible, having a 50-32 team sit, while an 8th seed team in the East plays with a 32-50 record.

Yes I meant 50, thanks.

I double checked the standings just now and yes I think it's very possible that a 50 win team will miss out in the west. It's less likely now that Houston lost Yao, but still very possible.

Big game tomorrow night, San Antonio v. Dallas! Go Mavericks!

I don't write Houston off just yet myself. Yep I'm a homer. The Rockets are capable of playing pretty well without Yao. In fact the problem early on was the other three players would stand around and watch Yao and McGrady play. Up until January, I think, the only players on the team to average double figures were those two. The team is much different now. Mutombo has a great start last night and really surprised me. How many games he will be able to play like that is the issue. Loved the finger wave technical right out of the box.

I hope Houston can sneak in, but I think they'll need a little help from another team or two in the form of a late season slump. I'd like to see Denver watch the playoffs at home, as I'm not an AI nor Melo fan.

The thing is the first 9 teams are bunched up together. The Rockets are only 3 games out of the top seed in the West and they are what, a #7 seed right now? Sunday night's game will tell us a lot, I think.

Did you guys hear the guy on ESPN's 1st and 10 show make remarks that Miami is tanking the season by D-Wade shutting down so they could get Michael Beasley first in next years draft.

I think the NBA should have a panel of doctors that when a team who has no shot at the playoffs shut down a star like Wade then the panel of dr's would evaluate him & make sure thr injury is legit. Just a thought.

But having the worst record doesn't mean your getting the #1 pick. I remember when Pitino left Kentucky to go to Boston as they were the worst team that year & Pitino was sure he would get Tim Duncan, we all know how that worked out, Boston got worse & San Antonio has become 4x champs.

If the Heat do get Beasley & can keep Shawn Marion to go along with Wade, they will go from worst to first quickly. I just wonder how Wade will be able to handle having a player(Beasley) on his team that is better than him? The Heat will be great to watch if all three of those guys play together next year.

Well I think there is a player out there that may be more deserving of the MVP than Lebron or Kobe & that is Chris Paul. I don't have League Pass so I don't get to watch him much, but I have ben following his stats all year as I am heavy into fantasy hoops & this guy just gets better & better every game. Plus I have been hearing the guys on TV, Legler & the other guy who I can't think of his name are starting to believe CP3 is the MVP.
Another player that is a dark horse for MVP I think is Tracy McGrady, only if Houston can win the regular season West title though would he win the MVP, or at least have a shot at it.

Chris Paul is the man, but compared to LeBron statistically it's no contest in favor of LeBron.

I'm kind of hoping McGrady wins it. The Rockets have blown my mind.

Celts-Rockets tonight, hopefully the streak ends, bwahaha.

Well I am a huge Lebron fan & believe there is no better player in the NBA than Lebron. But look at what Paul has done with a team whose best players are David West & Stojakavich...it is amazing as they are also winning all those games in the west. Nobody can stick Paul & he can put the moves on any defender in the league from what I have seen in the very few games I have seen him play this year & his Highlights on NBATV or ESPN.

Kobe is better as I have stated multiple facts and opinions otherwise. And if MVP is about stats then Kobe should have had it the last two years.

So what is the deal with the Seattle Supersonics? Are they really leaving or not as ESPN never gives a straight answer, but maybe there is not one to give.

I know Seattle has not hung a bunch of Championship banners on the rafters, but it is just one of those teams that I couldn't imagine not being in the NBA.

I don't follow the Sonics hardly at all, so what is the problem there? Are they not selling tickets?, or the owners mad cause the city won't pay for a new arena? Anyone know?

Thanks
