Agreed. Also some things are changing soon from what Im reading, ACC is in trouble.

Look for FSU to Big 12 soon, as well as Clemson. Chizik may be replacing Stoops, fun times.

Just went to make picks for our weekly college football pool as I had totally forgot it was over.

Now if I remember correctly we all agreed those who lost would chip in & buy the winner a brand new high definition TV set right???

Seriously though I had a lot of fun doing it & I know it was a lot of luck for me to finish in 1st. I was worried I had set it up wrong at 1st but I think it worked out pretty well once we got used to it after a week or two. Hopefully more will join next year.

Don't forget to sign up for the college bowl games pick em..... only takes a couple minutes to pick the winners & weight the games. Should be fun!

Default MantI5Heisman

Boy I sure enjoyed that Notre Dame awards show on ESPN tonight.

Manti is just cleaning up those mantle pieces.

I totally agree Borromini as it was a great show & great to see Te'o clean those awards up. I believe they said that he was the only player to win those 2 most prestigious awards.
and I loved all the stuff about Ara Parsegian. He got his start here about 15 minutes north from where I live at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio which is also known as the "cradle of coaches" for producing some of the greatest coaches like Ara, Paul Brown, Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler & quite a few more great football coaches.
After that show and the awards that Te'o won I will be shocked if he does not win the Heisman Trophy as he is very deserving. And while I also have enjoyed watching Johnny Football play quarterback and doing such a great job in leading the Aggies over Bama, his name wasn't even thrown in the mix until about week 11. I would vote Colin Klien & Braxton Miller ahead of Manziel.

I think Johnny is deserving, but seeing as he is a Freshman Id let one of the other two go for it.

If I was voting, it'd be Johnny, because I think he is more valuable to his team than the others are. Is ND wins, it'll be another Heisman winner that loses his bowl game...

But I personally hate ND

Well Oblioman you guys got your man this morning in Butch Jones from here in Cincinnati. I think it is a great hire for you guys & as bad as I hate to say it, I guess I'l have to root for your Vols a bit now as I love to see the coaches that leave the schools around here do well in new jobs.

But what matters is what a huge Vols fan like yourself thinks about this hire, so if ya get a chance to throw in your own 2 cents I'd like to hear it.

Well I have to say I am pleasantly suprised that Cincinnati was able to hire a "name" coach like Tommy Tuberville who led Auburn to an undefeated season & has coached some very good players.
I enjoy UC football as it is kind of like watching Ohio State's minor league team lol. But I hope Tuberville can maybe help UC get to an elite level of college football.

The "hardcore" UC fans are mad at Butch Jones saying it's a shame he broke his contract early. I have tried to explain to them that UC has a great football program but not an "elite" program like a Tennessee & you can't blame Jones for going to what he called his dream job just as Brian Kelly left for Notre Dame. I think some just believe UC is big time cause they play in Big East & I remind them of how they all thought UC was so great when they went undefeated(even I got caught up in it) & then went and played Florida & Mr. Tim Tebow in the Bowl & got embarrassed all the way back to Cincinnati......Nobody has had an answer for me after that statement lol

Hopefully UC can beat the Florida's & Tennessee's of the world one day, but it is not today.

But I really want to know what you think about Jones coming there or is there someone else you would rather see?

Sorry it took so long to reply, but just got back from a trip to AZ and just getting caught up. Got back in time for a big snowstorm.

I'm personally glad CU didn't get Jones. I really don't think he would be a good fit. I don't see where he has built anything from the ground up and trust me, we are on the ground level. He inherited a good program and players and I don't see where he really elevated anything. Besides, he has no contacts or experience in the west and would be at a disadvantage in recruiting.

Our best bets would be McIntyre from San Jose or DeRuyter from Fresno. McIntyre rejuvenated a program that had never been successful and has proven he can build a program and has good recruiting contacts on the west coast.

My personal choice would be Chris Petersen at Boise, but I don't think he'd be easy to get since he's passed up good offers already. Our last Boise coach was a complete bust as was his Boise predecessor at AZ State. Seems like Petersen may have been the secret to their success.

That Tuberville move was really surprising. After this and the Leach fiasco, have to wonder what's going on down there. I'm wondering also if there is conjecture the Big East will fold and Cincy maybe to the Big Ten?

I think the Heisman choice was questionable and really based on one game where Teo and Klein lifted their teams all season. I think Klein's concussion really cost him. He just didn't look the same after returning for the Baylor game.

I totally agree with you on this. Manziel put up some great #'s but 1 game, especially so late in the season, should not put you on the top of the Heisman list.
I think if in that Bama game that Manziel would have had 500+ total yds, 5TD's but A&M loses the game by only 1 point he would have never won the Heisman imo. But it is done & he will have an extremely hard time beating our Braxton Miller for it next season.
