Just thought i'd share with you guys that tonite when i got on my Xbox & went to the sports section it had a place where you could vote for your own Heisman pick & I voted for Braxton Miller.

Well then the results showed & was as follows...
Manti Teo 30%
Collin Klien 18%
Braxton Miller 7%
AJ McCarron 7%

everybody else was no higher than 2%.....i shared because I thought it was very interesting that the defensive player of the group had such a huge lead...But it doesn't show the #'s so there could have been 500K voters or 500 for all I know...if i dont forget I will look back in a few days & see if there is much change

It looks like the results are actually very localized. Would like to see a breakdown of locations of voters. No one would put Miller over Klein except those in the area of Ohio. Miller hasn't played against any viable competition to even merit consideration IMHO. Teo is deserving, but I haven't seen him make any real game changing plays which is usually a criteria for receiving votes, especially for a defensive player. McCarron really shot himself in the foot last week. How can Kenyon Barner not be mentioned more prominently? No offense, but I can't really see a national presence on this poll. I think at this point it's Klein's to lose.

How's this for refreshing news - rumors have it that both Chizik and Kiffin are on the hotseat and not likely to around next year?

Anyone believe that equipment manager acted on his own?

Why yes he acted on his own, you surely can't think a great upstanding head coach like Lane Kiffin would be part of any such tom foolery

Seriously though I don't understand how Kiffin has even still got a job. But I also feel like USC asked for it by bringing the guy in as head coach.

I am kind of suprised about Chizik being on hot seat so quickly. But after the treatment he got when he got hired(remember the heckling he took from Auburn fans after getting off plane on ESPN) they were obviously never crazy about him. And now a 2-7 record makes a national title seem like a very distant past no doubt.

"Happy days are here again, the skies above are clear again."

I think Sabin followed the refs to their plane bitching all the way.

Now if we can just get at least 2 of the 3 undefeateds home free we'll finally have an SEC shutout. That link drbrosco posted with the top wins really told a tale for the Tide.

Who do you guys like in the big games today???

I think Kansas St destroys Baylor about 55-22
Ohio State beats the Badgers in Wisconsin 36-33 in OT

And I totally agree with the ESPN guy earlier about the Oregon/Stanford game. That Stanford keeps it close for a half then before they know it Oregon will have blown it wide open by end of 3rd quarter & my score pick is about Oregon 47-Stanford 17

And I will say Notre Dame 34 Wake Forest 6

Lastly I gotta pick the USC/UCLA game.....I have always been a USC hater because of our Rose Bowl meetings & they let me down this season after I picked them to win it all but I will pick em once more USC 57 UCLA 38..........i do think Mora may have the Bruins headed back to good days though

By looking at the schedule on our pick em group it looks like a few top teams have easy games scheduled I am guessing its homecoming week??? ......Florida almost got their homecoming ruined last week...that blocked punt in the end was just crazy.

good luck to everybody's teams & everyone have a great weekend!!!

Sounds like you've got it pretty well wired - can't find fault with any of your picks. Guess that's why you're kicking our butts on Yahoo.

You've got the only games worth watching and I'm not even sure about the OSU-Wisconsin game. Big Ten hasn't been that worthwhile this year unless you're a fan. This is about the worst group of games I've seen all year. Only SEC game worth watching is Tenn-Vandy and that's only if you live there. Watching Iowa-Mich and MichST-Northwestern right now and these are not good teams.

Two games I'd like to have seen today are Bowling Green-KentSt and UtahSt-LouisianaTech which should be close and wild, but they are both on ESPN3 which I can't get. The MAC and Sun Belt and even the WAC have had good seasons and have pushed the elite BCS teams along with beating a lot of them.

I checked out the ending of the Stanford game. I've always been partial to Alabama since the Bear Bryant days and I was really rooting for Stanford to pull off the upset so that they get back in the BCS championship game hunt.

Too bad Stanford lost a few games. They beat USC and now Oregon with great defense, which is what I like most about football.

Well, more than one of us has mentioned that this year there is a lot of balance and no obvious number one in the country. Would really be a good time for an 8-team playoff because I think there are at least 8 teams that could emerge on top. Teams with more than one loss like TA&M and Stanford are deserving of a shot. ND should have won the USC game even with Barkley in there, but wonder if they would have withstood the pressure, but now there should be no excuse. I think ND would have trouble making it through a playoff to get to the championship game. The mighty SEC isn't as mighty as they think this year. Take a look at what they've done out of conference and they really have no resume to support the continued hype.
