I couldn't care less about Hank Jr. but his comments were on another channel and unrelated to espn. ESPN is free to do whatever they want but he was in no way representing them - I understand that they want no part of any controversy (ask Mel Gibson how being a lightning rod goes) but "He was not hired for his political commentary' makes no sense as he was speaking on Fox News not ESPN (which is owned by ABC) and he was never hired by ESPN and is not an ESPN employee - they only had a licensing agreement.
As big a buffoon as Hank is, I understand his analogy/point - He was expressing how ludicrous the point they were discussing was by saying it would be like Obama and Hitler playing golf together - also an absurdity. He then went on to denigrate obama and call himn the enemy which is another thing altogether.

Many jobs have conduct clauses for employees. He obviously violated the clause. Thus he got terminated. NFL is a multi-billion dollar biz and they are paranoid about their image. It does not matter how long he was OTJ. Besides the guy simply couldn't sing anyway I don't have to put cotton in my ears during the intro of da bearz game this week

see my edit - He was not an ESPN employee in any way. I never liked it to begin with so I am glad to see it go after all this time.

So why does ESPN tolerate their employees suggesting violence against certain people? If they're paranoid about their image and all.

Well if he was not an employee then this really is no big deal When I worked at a consulting firm, the contract had a clause that basically stated that I couldn't do acts on/off the job that were detrimental to the reputation of the firm. Surely the big money hank got had something similar. He basically got a little too cavalier on fox and made an ass of himself...even the fox hosts were looking at him oddly when he made the comment.

BTW, when you say "couldn't care less", is a double negative, e.g. mean that you actually care

If I make a product n you like it and decide to license it from me, It does not make me your employee and you can drop it any time you want. Oh and BTW

I couldn't care less IS ABSOLUTELY NOT a double negative- It simply means that I could not care any less (my absolute caring amount is zero.) what is often stated is I could care less which is not a double negative either but implies that in fact you do care because it would be possible for you to care less.

OK, well I guess I guess they decided not to renew the license, which I fully endorse. His comment could negatively impact future boat sales, so to speak BTW I know what you meant by "couldn't care less", but that is a double negative, which makes it positive.

ABSOLUTELY 100% wrong - saying "I could care less" implies that in fact it is able for you to care less. Meaning in fact you do care.

'I couldn't care less 'is 100% correct in both grammar and meaning - 'less' is an adverb in that sentence modifying the verb 'care' - quantifying it. Please don't correct my grammar and meaning twice when you aren't (correct). Another way for me to say the exact same thing would be - "It is impossible for me to care any less"= "I could not [couldn't] care less"

'Less 'is not a negative and that sentence is in no way a double negative
