Yeah, he did have a good game. I've been telling my buddy how much I like him, but he's still not sold. Giroux finally got a point, too.. He's been in a funk since the classic.

I heard on the radio this morning that Gagne got 8 points last night, 4G and 4A.
First time since Lemieux in '88.

Hey...! I just noticed on TSN.CA that it was Sam Gagner (Oilers) who got the 8 points, not Simone!! Were you thinking it was your old boy?? Man, I sure wish it was!! We could sure use the goals!!!

Anyway, I'm confident your buddy will come around... I bet Simmonds will shine in the playoffs!

You know, as far as Richards goes, he was out for a while w/some injury, but as a whole, I haven't been that impressed. I expected more offense from him. But that goes for the whole team really... I think my expectations for this season were just so high, and we DID start out on fire, but I also think that Doughty holding out had some effect on the team because all our offense pretty much went down the drain!!

The D is outstanding, and the offence is starting to come around a bit, so I'm still holding out hope!

Kings keep losing those tough one goal games!

Kings hockey seems to be a bit too much like my golf game... Neither of us seem to be able to get all facets of our game working @ the same time!! Lately, I can hit the hell out of my driver, but my iron shots are weak-right & my putting's been a bit off lately.

For the Kings, their "D" is outstanding including goal tending, however, their offence is dead last in the league I think.

I sure hope we BOTH snap out of it soon!!!

I feel like all the joy has been sucked out of hockey for me lately...

So tired of the Kings just not even being able to score one single goal!!

Last night, when the Flames scored in the third to make it 1-0, I pretty much knew right there that the game was over!

I couldn't even bear to watch the final 5 minutes...

I don't even know if getting Nash at this point would even make a difference!!

I just start hating life when the Kings play crappy. Actually, let me re-phrase that. I start hating life when a Kings team with SO MUCH POTENTIAL/ABILITY just cannot seem to get it together in any way for some "mysterious" reason that no one can put their finger on or make any sense of!!

Makes me start believing in stupid shit like "LA can just NEVER win the cup because we are LA!!"

Seriously... What would happen if tomorrow, LA and Detroit just "traded" entire franchises?!?!? Could the Redwing organization move out here and just continue winning seamlessly?!?!? Is LA really THAT "crappy" of a place? Are the LA Fans that inferior? Is it because virtually no one in the press here even pays any attention to the Kings anymore? (Case in point, try to find a single mention of yesterday's game @ LATIMES.com this morning!)*

Anyway... I guess I'm the Don Quixote of LA Hockey, since I will never stop hoping for the cup here. Strange how we were SO VERY CLOSE back in 1993 and have NEVER even threatened to get anywhere near that level again since that time. That's NINETEEN YEARS AGO!!! Nearly 20 years ago now that we were something like 90 seconds and one "penalty" away from being up two games to none ON THE ROAD in the Stanley Cup Finals!!

Alright... I'm just blubbering now...

I think the Kings have given me post-concussion syndrome~

*ok, so I suppose you CAN see a small story on last night's King's game if you click on the front "page's" "SPORTS" link and look around. But damn, they have the Lakers, the Clippers, Golf, and even Olympic Women's Boxing Trials on the front page for Christ's sake!

(Sorry your boys got ripped-off IMO the other day when the Canucks supposedly "stopped the streak". That should have NOT been an icing call there towards the end & play should have just continued...)

What about you Drbroscoe?? What do you think of the Jack Johnson trade?

Looks like the Kings are still looking around & the word is that they are shopping Dustin Brown, so I guess they are pretty much blowing up the team now...

Sure turned into a depressing season when it was supposed to be our "breakout year"!

Who knows though... Maybe Carter will actually pan out, & maybe it will wake Richardson & the rest of the boys up!!

I'm not all that excited about the Flyers right now.. They have an OK record, but they are in no way ready for the playoffs.. We're looking at a first round exit easily. The Flyers can score, but you can't expect to win a couple series in the playoffs w/ scores of 5-4. The goaltending and D has to improve greatly between now and then for us to have an inkling of a chance.

Also, everyone is making a big deal about Richards and Carter being "reunited", I don't see it as a big deal??? They probably won't spend much time on the ice together and neither of them were exactly taking the league by storm this year. Hope it works out for you, but I don't expect anything huge from it.

I thought you guys were doing a bit better than that, but I honestly haven't really been following the standings that much.

I agree w/you about Richards/Carter. Although I heard that they won't be having Carter play Center, so I suppose he COULD be on the ice w/Richards @ some point~

Anyway, as you probably heard, Carter didn't have a point in his first game, but the team itself sure looked good!! Brownie had a hat trick & a four point game, and Quick got another shutout!!

The weird thing is that I KNOW this team is capable of scoring, so it isn't like we need a whole new lineup, we just need to get people's offence started up and firing on all cylanders!

If that involves Carter lighting it up, great! But if it means that other teams concentrate on him & allow one of our other guys to get open, he's got to bury that puck & convert those chances!!

One game isn't going to tell the tale though, so we'll see what happens @ Nashville tonight!

Lastly, I sure hope that it's true that Brown is no longer on the table for anyone... I like him, and want him here as a King.

Flyers win!! I can't believe Bryz only let in 2 goals on 39 shots against the 'Wings.. He must've been sandbagging the first 2/3 of the season.
