It's a long season and there will be ebbs/flows with teams. What worries me is that there are almost 1 player/team out with a concussion...My Pens have 3! This isn't good for the league and they need to migrate to the new Cascade Helmets, and mandate mouthpieces professionally made for athletes

I watched one so far and I have one more on my DVR (so I guess I better hurry up & watch it before the actual game, eh?!?!? )

I watched a game between the Flyers and New York the other day... It was a damn good game! I sure hope it's cold out there & that this outdoor game is good!

PS - I'm pleased w/Sutter so far. Kings seem to be responding to him, so let's hope it continues! Tough OT loss last night in Wpeg, but I thought for the most part, the Kings plated well...

Did you see the writeup on TSN's website? There's about 75 pages of comments!!

Oh, by the way, I didn't think there was anything wrong w/that hit on Salo...

Marchand wasn't down @ knee level or anything... It's not like he snuck up behind Salo and tripped him! Salo was the one coming @ Marchand and he just got out of the way! I didn't see it as "dirty" at all!!

I'm always happy to see Vancouver take a beating!!

I still don't know how you get a six on one fight and the team with the one gets to be shorthanded???? I thought it was a good game but the refs just blew a couple of calls but that is the way it goes sometimes. About Marchand I don't like him submarining people like that no matter who it is and someone could really get hurt. In my opinion he needs to stop it and if he doesn't he will be sitting out some games for sure. Thanks for the link to those comments, Pretty entertaining stuff. Oh well it definitley was exciting.....Go B's...

Anybody else bothered by Tim Thomas electing to not join his team mates for the White House visit?

I don't care the least bit about his political beliefs, because of course, he has absolutely every right in the world to feel however he wants, but I do feel that in this instance, he put himself before the team and although I am certain it was not his intention, I believe it detracted from the overall moment for his team mates, his Club, and Hockey fans in general...

I'm just as certain that you will NEVER hear that from any of his team mates, but I bet that it stung a bit.

Speaking for myself, I wish he had gone, and THEN made his FB statement about his feelings so as to not detract from the team & their families. I would have respected that a lot more...

I think the reason it bothers me so much is because I REALLY like him, and his story (as I know it anyway) is such a great one! I think he's one of (if not THE ) best goalies in the league~ (and that coming from a Kings fan, where we have a GREAT goalie!!)

I hope that he reflects on his decision, and that he can understand in retrospect how he could have handled it better. I also hope that this doesn't escalate and that it just "fades away" and becomes a non-story. I still really like him, and I don't WANT to know about his feelings on politics/religion/immigration, or anything else that isn't hockey-related!

Interested on hearing some of your thoughts on this...

I thought it was pretty cool to see Datsuk go #1 too, especially being picked by Chara!

Man, with all the firepower on team Chara, it's definately a good thing that Alfredson's team will have Quickers in net! If anybody can stop those guys, it's Quick~

Has anyone seen all the uproar on ESPN.com or TSN.CA about the "extra 1.8 seconds" in last nights Kings game?!?!?

It is so funny to read all the comments and opinions on what "has to happen" in order to keep the "integrity of the game" intact...

Here is the response I wrote for TSN.CA, but it appears that it's not going to be posted as I sent it quite a while ago & it's still not there:

This is SO STUPID it's actually FUNNY! Human error happens in virtually EVERY game to one extent or another! How many times have I seen people on these forums whine about "an OBVIOUS missed/bad call" by an NHL Ref or Linesman?!?!? That pretty much happens daily. For anyone to actually think that there is some "conspiracy" between the timekeeper and (whoever) are you serious?? You really believe that the timekeeper says "OK... Let me just delay the clock for one second so DD can gather the puck and get it in the back of the net before time expires!"?? You have to be insane!! How many Kings games have you people watched anyway? Don't you see the stats about how Kings goals are so few and far between this year? We may actually even be the lowest scoring team in the league this season!! There have been MANY games where the Kings couldn't even score ONE goal to bail Quick out! How could ANYONE actually believe that someone would intentionally delay the clock for ONE SECOND so the Kings could score that last goal! Really, shake your heads folks. Thanks for the laughs anyway... Kings WILL make the playoffs, and it WON'T be in 8th place, so just relax and deal with it.

I have this game on DVR and I can't wait to watch it!! (I fell asleep during the 1st period so I missed the end...)

Anyway, human error happens EVERY DAY IN EVERY SPORT.

Would I feel differently had it happened the other way?? Yeah, I'd probably swear & cuss about it... for maybe 10 minutes. Then I'd suck it up and say Oh well, *hit happens, and it DOES tend to even out over the course of a season...
