Onkyo 605 Listening Mode Display
Does it display the listening mode? I only see CBL/SAT and no idea of the mode. Certainly, there is a way to display the listening mode, isn't there? On Dish Network I gather I am getting DD on the HD channels and 2 channel PCM on all the others. Isn't there a way to display the listening mode no matter the source? What is the recommended listening mode for both the DD HD channels and the PCM channels? Many thanks for the help!

Try direct, it will give you everything that is broadcast and when Dolby is broadcast the red Dolby signal light will appear. Or, you could just set the receiver to ProLogic2 movie which most do and seem to be very satisfied with the results.
