The problem started thusly: I bought a Zvox 315 to connect to my Phillips 19" HDTV only to find, sadly, that the Phillips has ONLY A SPDIF out. There is no other audio out at all! I have no way to connect the Zvox other than to the Dish 211 HD receiver but that leaves me with having to get up and down to change the volume on the back of the Zvox; not a workable solution and not to mention the mute icon remains visible. Also using the satellite remote volume buttons turns the speakers on the tv back on. Help, please!
I gather my option is to pawn the Phillips onto someone who will never think of connecting it to a receiver and to find a 19" or 26" inch set that has variable audio outputs. I gather this is pretty much a requirement so far as the Zvox goes. I am unwilling to return the Zvox and keep the Phillips as I feel like Phillips should not have sold this set so short as to only have an SPDIF output. If you are still kind enough to have read this far please give me your suggestions and let me know which HDTVs have the variable outputs I so truly must have. Many thanks! |

The Zvox has to be connected via the headphone jack once you have gone out and bought the adaptor.
