Hey guy I need a little help with my surround sound
I Have: Bose® Network-ready 5.1 Home Theater Package Pioneer AV Receiver 2 HDMI Cables 1 Component Cable 65" Vizio LCD 3D TV PS3 Apple TV I hook up all the speakers and everything and all the speaker ARE WORKING. The sound wasn't playing so I called customer assistance and he told me to connect the hdmi cable from the tv to the Bose AV Receiver and the cable box to the Bose AV Receiver. It's working. Problem: (1) If I turn off the AV Receiver the TV goes black and says "No Signal" (2) If I switch to a different HDMI Input the sound still plays (3) The standard TV volume doesn't work anymore only the speakers (4) Speakers don't play any other hdmi outputs only the one the cable box is connected to (5) If I turn off the tv the speakers still play On my old speaker system I used 1 component cable and everything worked perfectly. When you switched the hdmi outputs it played the hdmi output your on. The TV volume worked and the speakers did as well. And when I turned off the tv it stopped playing. It was good I had to get new ones because some of the speakers stopped working. But I'm having all these problems with these new ones I forgot where the component cable originally had gone on the old ones. And I don't know how to hook up the hdmi cable to the way I want. So if anybody could please help me fix this problems and tell me what to connect where it would be greatly appreciated. |

You have a Bose receiver and a Pioneer receiver? How does that work? And why?
Your equipment list doesn't include your cable box. Are there any other missing items? Model numbers are also helpful, especially with AVRs, as their capabilities are different. From the list you posted, there's no need for component cables, just HDMI. How do you want it to work? That affects how the pieces should be connected. The basic scheme that many people use is to connect everything to the receiver and then run a single HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV for video. You choose the source you want to watch using the AVR selector. The picture shows up on the TV and the sound comes through the surround system. If you want something else, then you'll need to explain how you want it to work. Last edited by BIslander; 02-24-2013 at 04:40 PM. |

The 'Bose® Network-ready 5.1 Home Theater Package' is a bundle of Bose speakers with the Pioneer AV receiver. There is no separate Bose AV receiver. That being said, the OP needs to do a better job phrasing his question... http://www.costco.com/Bose%C2%AE-Net...100030179.html |
