Apartment stereo sound to surround sound ?

Alas,

To really enjoy what spectacular theater sound is like, an apartment resident would risk nightly visits from the police and quick eviction.
Sad but true.

I called into the store today and I think I am going for :

JBL ES20 High-Performance 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers
JBL ES25CBK 3-Way, Dual 5 1/4" Center Channel Speaker
Yamaha RX-V673 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver

What do you think ? Would it match with what I have at the moment speaker wise ?

JBL L880 4-Way, High Performance 6-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker
JBL ES250PBK High-Performance 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer

Although I might go for JBL ES30BK 3-Way, 6 1/2" Bookshelf Speaker instead of the JBL ES 20.

That set-up looks good - either choice for the bookshelf speaker would do nicely.

When new to the experience, setting everything up can be challenging. If you get confused by the manual or how things function, post back and many here can help.
