Default PS3 to Panasonic Viera to Harman Kardon True surround sound question

So here's the setup I have going:

PS3 hooked with HDMI cable out to Panasonic Viera (TC-P50S2), which in turn is hooked with Digital audio out to Harman Kardon AVR 320. Is this giving me true surround sound? I hope so.

You would need to run a single hdmi cable from ur receiver to ur tv. Then run ur ps3 through your receiver.

No- run HDMI from ps3 to HK receiver (input) and then run HDMI from HK (output) to tv HDMI in.

Talking Surround Sound

Correct. Audio from your TV's output is only 2 channel stereo, not surround ( unless you're running an ARC setup, which I fully doubt, as it is much more complicated ). As jkkyler stated, run HDMI from the PS3 directly to your HK receiver, then HDMI from the HK to your Panny plasma. This way the original audio from your PS3, whether it be 2 channel, 4 channel, 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 channels, will be sent to your HK receiver and you'll be able to enjoy TRUE surround sound. Happy listening !! .

Thank you, and thank everyone else on this post. You guys are so helpful! Ok, I have two such HDMI wires, but I'm not sure what to do as far as setting everything up on the menus to make it so I hear it all. Are you familiar with the HK setup? I don't have a remote, so I need to know how to do it on the panel. I think I can handle the TV end of it.

Thanks,
Rob
