Default Onkyo HT-S7100 606 crackling

i just recently purchased an onkyo 7100 home theater that includes the 606 receiver. hooked up and sounds great. it is now my 2nd day with it and it just started to do something terribly annoying. The speakers start crackling im not talking about 1 or 2 but all except sub.
This happens when its been on for abour 5 to 6 hours.
When i turn it off for about 20 mins it goes away also when i press the setup button to change the db for the speakers it starts doing it really bad sometimes.
is it the reciever or what?
should i send it in to fix what do you guys think
Thanks for any help

Something definately sounds hosed. You probably done this already, but I would double check all the speaker wire connections and make sure they are secure and not crossed. Does it do it on all inputs that are connected or just a certain one? If only 1, I would change out that HDMI cable just to verify. If not, it sounds like a bad receiver. Did you get if from Accessories4less? If so just call them up and explain you issue. They have a 30 day return/exchange policy so they will just send you another 1 if you like.

are you using the speaker cable that came with the unit or have you upgraded to thicker wire?? I think the speaker cables that come with most units is like 22ga. I always use thicker wiring like 14ga.
