Default Blue light around volume knob

I have a Onkyo Receiver (TX-603X) and the blue light around the volume knob goes out sometimes or flashes on & off. Whats causes this problem and is there a fix?

Thanks

I can turn off the light with the dimmer setting, but it looks nicer with it on.
