Thumbs up Accessories4less

If you check through the posts on this site, you will find that www.accessories4less.com is often recommended. I've never heard of anyone having any problems, either with their service or their merchandise. And YES, they are VERY legit. What did you order through them ?

Thumbs up Onkyo 7100

Yes, a very excellent system. But, you will probably want to do one thing - purchase some heavier gauge speaker wire for it. The wire they supply is not nearly thick enough, nor in many cases, long enough for your speakers. You can go to Lowes or Home Depot if one is close enough to you. They have bulk rolls or will cut the length you desire from their stock. Be sure to get at least 16 gauge wire, and make sure to get enough for all 7 of your speakers. If you want to save some money, and have a couple of days before your system arrives, go to www.monoprice.com . You can purchase a bulk roll for very little $$. Also, get your connecting cables ( HDMI, component, etc. ) from them as well. You'll pay MUCH less for equal or better quality than you can purchase anywhere else.

I'd probably order a line conditioner instead of that surge protector. The line conditioner will definitely help to shield your hd components much better and prevent spikes easier

Check out previous posts on this topic but you are better off with a surge protector and UPS than a line conditioner - Real, effective line conditioners are $$$$$- the one that I use for the excimer laser where I work cost $1900 but some can be had for $1000 or so while a UPS w/ surge suppressor should be more than adequate for your needs and will run you $200 or less.

UPS is an Uninterrupted Power Supply via battery backup. If the power drops below a certain level, it will kick in and take over. Dependinding on the unit it could last for seconds or hours.

Either that or the United Parcel Service..

And in some cases, depending on the UPS, it can act as a buffer and absorb any voltage spikes as well. A much better solution than a surge protector or power conditioner (which it in effect does also).
