My girlfriend and I will be moving into a new apartment soon and the living room shape is quite odd due to the floor to ceiling bay windows. There is only one location for the TV in the corner where it shows the fireplace on the floor plan. (There is no fireplace in ours that we will be moving into). Normally I would wall mount the speakers but seeing as the room is oddly shaped and the room is entirely all windows as well, I think it would be best to buy some speaker stands instead? I'm no expert by anymeans so I'm unsure if this would be the best option. Also, if getting stands would be the best option; if anyone knows of a more cheap but qaulity stand that would hold my front, and surround speakers I would appreciate it. I looked on Onkyo's site and they ones they had were $114 dollars for them =(
My system is an older Onkyo HT-S5200 with more updated speakers, but still roughly the same size. I've also included a floorplan of our apartment just as a reference. Last edited by Huckinsons23; 09-29-2009 at 11:14 AM. |

You might want to check Amazon.com or even eBay for speaker stands. I purchased 2 sets of Bella stands for about 1/2 retail price from Amazon. And, I must say, you are indeed in quite a quandry concerning your speaker placement. All that I can suggest without actually being there is to experiment.

Thank you both for the advice and links. I will most likely get those stands that you suggested Loves2watch for my surround speakers. However, I will need to find stands for my 2 front speakers as they are about 7lbs each and the stands you suggested wouldn't be able to hold them.
